Can someone tell me why I’m not supposed
to enjoy Shakespeare? It seems like a sin,
that I, unlike my classmates, am engrossed
by his blockbuster charm. Generation
of mine, wake up and smell the iambic!
Study his time and read aloud his plays,
no other way can you understand it,
and teachers, stress the verse every single day!
It’s no wonder student’s cringe
at the sound of his name and close their ears
to shut out his inane gibberish binge,
not aware of the fun hid by languaged years.

you may see new worlds and enter the song
