Can a Sonnet Be Used to Tell a Good Horror Story?


Homeless walked into the elevator,
then came brainless, heartless, ‘n coward too.
Screaming metal sounds out the shutting door,
see buttons flicker: floor one, and floor two,
which is cracked! And thus it’s always begun.
First brainless offed, by knocking off his head,
lights flicker, and coward has tried to run,
then heartless falls, a hole in his chest, dead.
The door opens and coward ups and flies,
but Homeless hears screaming as the doors close.
She’s shaking now and cannot run though she tries,
she’s at her floor now, feet covered in rose.
Homeless, without headless, chestless, ‘n coward,
Screams-
