untitled

Narration and storytelling spin a
colorful monochrome  life of contrast
wrapped up in fish tales told around dinner
leaving us full of our own pomp and bombast.
What’s wrong with the random and outright strange?
Done well it leaves a sweet taste in our mouth,
and blasts us beyond our usual range
to worlds and fantasies, from north to south.
Why not take relish in words and pictures
for their own dear beauty and simple joy?
Think of the delight in well-told lectures,
Why not take a moment to ponder these ploys?
Why not take a moment to meditate
on those words that change lives, and make them great.
