To Virtue

There’s a certain kind of nobility
to be found in accepting charity,
while avoiding pride and it’s depravity,
and teaching us simple humility.
Charity leads us from the path of doubt
when, in faith, we listen to her loud shouts,
letting ourselves be guided by her out
of this mucky world riddled in clout.
Without Charity, where’s our fortitude?
Locked up in some plastic case old and rude?
Real courage and strength comes from our hearts dude
and guides us away from the worst of our moods.
We are witty and guided by virtue,
taking us all out of unneeded pity.
